Parkour, a relatively new style of workout that combines motions from military obstacle course training and was developed in France, is gaining popularity. The goal is to get from one point to another as quickly and efficiently as possible without utilizing any assistive equipment — just your body. Running, crawling, balancing, climbing, vaulting, swinging, jumping, rolling, and other calorie-burning exercises are all part of it. The Hong Kong Parkour Association holds weekly open sessions, one-on-one personal training, and group training sessions, and Trybe in Kennedy Town offers programs for children and teenagers.
Taekwondo, which was developed by the Korean army to improve strength, speed, and survival abilities through unarmed combat, is not only a helpful self-defense method but also a significant calorie-burner. Kicks, punches, hand and foot blocks, sweeps, joint locks, grappling and throws provide a full-body workout that strengthens hip and core muscles while also improving flexibility, strength, cardio, and balance.
Korea Taekwondo Cheung Do Kwan has 11 sites and offers daily English instruction for children (ages 3 and up), youths, and adults interested in learning martial art.
A workout at Flex Studio Hong Kong combines ballet methods, yoga, Pilates, and strength training to reshape the complete body by strengthening the core, sculpting and toning muscles, and improving posture. Private and group classes are available, including the signature Xtend Barre class, as well as Xtend Barre Multilevel and Xtend Barre Cardio Blast. The studio also offers an Xtend Barre Teacher Training Program if you want to take it to the next level.
This one is for you if you appreciate yoga and stand-up paddleboarding. Stand-up paddle yoga combines yoga with the movement of the water for a demanding and peaceful workout. You'll get to relax while also getting some serious cardio (you'll have to paddle out around 25 meters) and core activation (balancing is harder than it looks!).
On the ice, whether you're a novice or a seasoned pro, there's plenty of fun to be had - and calories to be spent. During public skating hours, the rink offers group and individual classes for both youngsters and adults, as well as freestyle skating.
